The annual gathering that forms the season opener for Triumph Buffs will next year not be held at Stoneleigh. The Telford International Centre TF3 4JA is the new venue, the date for your diary being Sunday 7th February 2021.
We understand that the change in venue may be down to an increase in the number of units being let to businesses (due to the lack of Show revenue) as a result of the Pandemic.

Dear Fellow Triumph Owner,
One thing that has remained constant in this crazy pandemic year, is the pleasure to social distance by taking a drive in your Triumph. So, with that in mind, it’s time to plan a social distance activity for Drive Your Triumph Day, February 10, 2021.
My name is Rye Livingston and I’m with the Triumph Travelers Sports Car Club in Northern California, which is celebrating our 62nd anniversary.
As you may remember a number of years ago, I encouraged members of our club to drive their Triumphs on February 10th, to celebrate Sir John Black’s Birthday, the man who organized Standard’s purchase of Triumph after the war, and went on to make the cars we enjoy driving today.
Last year I received about 350 photos from all over the world: Scotland, Ireland, the UK, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, Uruguay, Netherlands, Switzerland, Finland, Canada, Holland, Czech Republic, and of course all over the USA. I’m hoping we can increase that number this year!
The concept is straightforward. On Wednesday, February 10th, go for a drive in your Triumph. Take a scenic drive on a country road or out to lunch, to the market, to work, wherever. Go for a drive alone or in a big group from your local Triumph Club. Take your spouse, buddy, child, grandchild or your dog; then take a photo. The photo is mainly of the car, and the owner if possible, ideally in front of a cool spot, landmark, scenic view or in your driveway. If it’s the middle of the winter where you live and your car is in hibernation, or in the middle of a restoration, take a photo of it anyway.
Next step is to email a high-resolution photo to driveyourtriumphday@gmail.com, along with some basic information: owner’s name, year and model of car, and place photo was taken (city, state, country). The photos will then be published not only in our club newsletter, but also in USA’s national magazine: Vintage Triumph Registry, and on the Drive Your Triumph Day website: https://driveyourtriumphday.shutterfly.com
Please feel free to send this on to other Triumph Clubs you may know of, and your club Activities Chairman and Newsletter editor. Last year a few Standard Clubs joined in too, which is great.
Be sure to contact me with any questions you may have, and thank you in advance for getting the message out to your members and friends to Drive Their Triumphs on February 10th.
Regards,
Rye Livingston
Activities Chairman

We are currently updating the list of members’ cars. If you’re a Triumph 2000 2500 2.5 Register member, why not send in a picture of your car for our gallery (two pictures max please) to webadmin@triumph2000register.co.uk.
The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show set to be staged at the NEC 13-15 November has been cancelled. Show spokesman Lee Masters said ; “It is with great sadness that I announce to you today that we have decided there is no alternative but to postpone the 2020 edition of the show, despite pulling out all the stops to try and make the annual season finale happen.”
Members who have already bought tickets can find out more information on the show’s website https://www.necclassicmotorshow.com
The Register had already decided not exhibit at the show due to the changing nature of the pandemic & pressure on Board members to man the stand under the current Government guidelines. More about that in the next SIXappeal being mailed next week.
For those members who may not have heard, the Triumph Picnic & Hog Roast at Walton Hall, Warks on 20th September has been cancelled. Although the open air event should have made social distancing easy the ever-changing Coronavirus situation has lead the organisers to postpone the event. It is intended to hold the gathering sometime next May.
As I’m sure most of you are aware this week should have been the Triumph 2000 / 2500 / 2.5 Register National Rally but due to Coronavirus has had to be cancelled.
Just to show you what you’ve missed and what you’re missing the gallery page of past Nationals is now up and running. Available from the menu or by following the link: triumph2000register.co.uk/gallery
We still need a lot more photos to make it complete. It would be great if you have any that you’d like to share to get them to me this week and we’ll see how many we can get uploaded before Sunday, what would have been the last day of the rally.
Montage shows a small selection of my favourites that are currently viewable.
Years we need photos for: 1998 we only have one. 1989-1991, 1993-1996, 1997 we only have two, 1998, 2000-2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2014.
Please don’t send any more than ten. File size doesn’t need to be any larger than 1500 pixels wide/2mb in size. For older photo prints, scanned images are preferred (most printers have scanning facilities these days). Just photographing them on a mobile phone tends not to work.
If you don’t have a scanner but are happy to post them to Paul Girling, 76 Richmond Road, Saham Toney, Thetford, Norfolk, IP25 7EU. I’ll scan and return them next time I’m allowed out for my weekly shop.
If you can also put where and when the National was that would be great.
As the current Coronavirus situation continues to rapidly unfold, it is affecting each of us in different ways and is likely to continue to do so over the coming weeks and months. Note: There is a newer post giving further information about the National.
The FBHVC has advised clubs to cancel local group meetings and local events until further notice. Therefore the Triumph 2000 Register is advising its local groups to take heed of this advice.
Many shows will be cancelled or postponed and as we get updates, we will post these on this page of the website. The following shows have been postponed or cancelled:
