I'm 28, which I imagine makes me towards the younger end of the Triumph 2000 owners. I bought my first Triumph 2000 when I was 23. They are brilliant cars but don't buy one unseen off e-bay after you've come back from the pub! (like I did!)
My friend Phil is 6'7" and over 20 stone. He gave me a hand bleeding the clutch through a few months ago and he struggled to get his legs under the steering wheel on my Mk1 so I'd say MK2 would best as the steering wheel height is adjustable or fit a smaller steering wheel (this would also give you more elbow room). Might also give you more room if you take the parcel shelf out on the drivers side. On the plus side the pedals weren't too close together for his size 14 shoes.
The car didn't look too comically small compared to Phil's normal transport: Phil drives a Nissan Micra!

Re: Leg length?
Ah that's fair enough! Your friend Phil seems to be the same size as me then, size 14 feet, 6'7-6'7 1/2" ish. I aim to put a smaller sports-type steering wheel and strip the seats completely - probably take out the runners too and put new brackets in further back to allow my legs some room!
Thanks for the advice though, much appreciated!

I'm around 6'2" and I'm fairly sure my seat is all the way back on my MkII 2.5PI (that or it's jamming before the end of the rail- it is a PITA to move?) I don't know if there's any difference in the seats between the Australian and UK models? The other issue you might have is the seat belt upper section might not even touch your shoulder/ upper body from the B pillar?

Re: Leg length?
Hopefully I should fit, we shall see. As for the seatbelt I aim to strip all of that out, more likely going to fit a 3 of 4 point harness, which I do fit into! Back seats might go as well but I guess I will have to cross that bridge when I come to it!murcod wrote:I'm around 6'2" and I'm fairly sure my seat is all the way back on my MkII 2.5PI (that or it's jamming before the end of the rail- it is a PITA to move?)
