Leg length?

#1 Post by Tim Cornish »

Anyone got a clue how far the seat goes back in a 2000? Been haggling to buy one as a first car for a while, nice and big, but at 6'8 and with 37"/38" inside leg I'd like to know how far the seat retreats before I commit any further interest?

Haven't seen anyone in a 2000 within a 50 mile radius of Salisbury so a practical examination is off... Anyone help?

Stoneleigh next weekend would be a good time to 'try before you buy'.
A lot of us on here have been Salisbury way before, usually travelling pretty quickly

Bit of a trek to Stoneleigh I'll have to be honest, but I'll have a search round see if there's anything more local. I live not far from Beaulieu anyway but that's September.

Bill don't worry about it, I get it quite a lot anyway so my jokes have developed with it.
My version is more like Police Academy and Hightower driving the Honda Civic by ripping the front seats out! I fit in an X-reg Corsa and that's quite tiny, so, maybe finding a Triumph nearby to give a practical test won't be too hard! Offers on a postcard please!

I'm in Maidenhead, which is 70 miles, should you not find anyone closer...

David I shall drop you a DM now. Nice Casetta by the way. Parents have currently got a Conway which is quite nice sometimes! Quite stuffy however.

Bill of course, lovely bunch of people I've heard - wonder if there are any other young ones like me out there.

Motor magazine's 1969 road test of a 2.5PI Mk2 quotes a measurement between pedals and the front edge of the seat cushion of between 15 1/2" (minimum) and 22" (maximum), with a front-to-back dimension on the seat base itself of 18".

Does this help?

Hi Tim

My folks live in Salisbury so I get over there once in a while. No current plans but, if you don't get a better offer, I'm sure we could sort out a fitting for you. I have the opposite problem myself...

Tim mate is 6ft 6 and he gets in a MK1 no problem.
You can also add some extra metal as a stopper onto seat runner, a mate did this too
