This week so far,(apart from a full week at work and 8hrs o/t):
I have painted some stag rear brake back plates and drums (cured in the boiler room at work :D ) These will be going on the estate eventually, with new slaves and shoes.
The pi has received new track rod ends, stag front hubs, discs, calipers and goodrich hoses, just need to bleed them.
Offside inner rear arch has had a coat of black smoothrite, but sadly I couldn't get that in my curing room at work :( so once that has dried I will slop something over the top and get the wheels back on.
Will also try and fit my nos locking petrol cap.
Then it's fit the rear inertias and wash and polish ready for Stoneleigh.
Nearly forgot about fitting the straight front bumper and grille too.

Washed it and chaimoxed (spelling?) it off. Had a nice drive down to Salisbury, clear road, sun shinging, high speed run all the way down. Unfortunately I was going to a funeral so sat in the car bawling my eyes out when I got to the crematorium (wuss i know).

Took my Triumph to the Lawrence Show "n" Shine classic car show today! Had a great drive there and back and looked at heaps of great cars! They were mostly American and Aussie, but there were a few Brits including a Spitfire, a Wolseley 6/110, an Austin A35, a few Rover P6B's, a P4, some Zephyr/Zodiacs, Daimler Dart, Jensen Healys, Cortinas and Capris! No other Triumphs apart from the Spitfire, though I did meet a guy who had a French Blue Triumph 2500S at home, which he didn't bring because he's currently got the wood out to refurbish! He did have a couple of photos of it though and it looked really nice! Weather was absolutely gorgeous and the whole place had a good friendly vibe to it! Really enjoyed myself!

Gave it a long-overdue wash....... it now looks white again! Gave it the once over too in preparation for the trip down to my parents on thursday night and then the journey back up to Coventry on Saturday in readiness for Stoneleigh.

Drove the blue PI to work today. Nice, except the speedo which decided to flip between 0 and >140 MPH (things are touching inside) before the needle fell off and is now sitting just behind the glass! More work...

Cheers,
Mike.

Left my bike in the garage today, and drove my Triumph to work! I forgot quite how much it makes me smile, especially when the sun is shining.

It's also my first proper trip out with the Witor semi-sport exhaust and it's brilliant! Not too noisy, just a nice sound from the back but not at all intrusive in the car.

The reason for taking it to work - it's MOT time! Going straight from work at 2.00 (can't beat early finish Fridays) so fingers crossed!!

an eventful day for the 2-5 today. First i drove her the 300 miles to my parents before the sun had even come up, then i took her to the bodyshop for an assessment and quote. Then back to my parents where my dad and i fitted one of mikes excellent strut braces which has made a dramatic improvement to the handling! She has also been treated to a set of pi wheel trims in place of the nasty original ones plus a full wash, wax and polish. Not a bad days work really!

I spent Friday afternoon trying to sort the rather spongy clutch. It's now got a braided hose, but the main problem was that the slave was mounted upside down. No wonder there was air in there. It had also had an non-original adjustable push-rod fitted!

I've also changed the prop for a virtually new one (one of CW's exchange ones). Good thing as both old prop UJs had easily detectable play and at least one UJ cup had been rotating.

I must remember to change the speedo (again) tomorrow.

Cheers,
Mike.
