Fuel and Temp gauge over reading

Hi all,

I recently changed the bulbs in the 'all systems go' gauge on my '71 200 mk2 as only the indicators were left working. - Removing the front of the dashboard to do so. These now all work fine but the fuel gauge and temp gauge read out in the next dial along have started reading much higher than before. - Am 99% sure that the two issues are related.

Have I accidently pulled out an earth of some sort?

Any thoughts

Julian

Voltage stabiliser- little box thing with two terminals on the back of the speedo - controls the good health of gauge calibration - they fail eventually - worth checking it's all wired up but it might just have expired after 43 years

As Andy says!
Change it, you can get modern solid state ones which work very well, on eBay very cheap.

Check that you haven't dislodged the earth wire on the stabilizer . Did it once with similar results.
