Was that the car in the High Wycombe area? I seem to remember that he had a wheel come off and crush the rear wing a bit when he had the Rover V8 in it prior to fitting the Chevvy! He use to 'scare' Porsches on the M40!

I doubt it very much, I'm in New Zealand!

I heard that he use to scare anyone else that went along for a drive in it!

Yeah, if I had more garage space I'd be very tempted! It'd be pretty cool to have a nice Pi to go with the modifyed V8! Even the interior colour is the same as mine! But yeah, it does look pretty good, it could be a real bargain! It's already hit the reserve at $700! Pretty cheap for a nice Pi here in NZ!

Hello to all.
Due to Gary catching Flu just before Christmas my Pi resto has been on hold. But now Gary has recovered and is storming along again with the rebuild. He has finished the welding work and is now in the process of respraying Pi. Here are some pics of the progress.



















Here is the first side to be painted. I think Gary has got just the right match to blend-in with the original Triumph White, as i'm not having the roof, bonnet, and boot resprayed as these are in good order, and also to save Triumph tokens for other things on Pi:

I'm starting to get very excited and i'm looking forward to collecting Pi on moday

Hello,
After another busy day at Garies on monday I returned home with my Pi.
It has been resprayed and rust-proofed i'm very happy with the results. The paintwork is almost mirror finish apart from a little roughness were it blends-in with the old paintwork. Gary polished up the original paint work, so it now matches the new.
Here's a few pictures:






















The next job for me is to remove the fuel tank and give it a good clean-out, as it's appears to be full of 20 years of crud, which keeps blocking the tank to filter line. And then to fit the nice shiny bumpers
But a very big Thank-you to Gary for restoring my Pi, and my best mate Reg for giving me a spur-on to get the underneath looking nearly as good as the top

I get so blown away when I see photos like those! In New Zealand, a Triumph with that much rust would be scrapped! Though, to be honest, I've never seen a Triumph with anywhere near that much rust before! I'm sure thankful we don't have salt on our roads...
