I managed to look at this whole thread at home this morming, I can't view the photos at work either, and I have to say that it looks fantastic Lee, and well done to you and your welder for not being put off by the enormity of the job in the first place.
How bad would it have been if it wasn't an early mk2 with the better grade steel?
Does look nice though mate and the photos are an invalueable resource for future purchasers(where to look and why!) and restorers (how it should be done) alike.

FWIW I couldn't agree more. I'm reading this thread and a couple of others in the body forum repeatedly so that I've got some idea of what to expect when Mr Outer Sill meets Mr Angle Grinder and later on when Mr New Panel meets Mr Mig Welder
Some of the early pics in the thread in particular have got me really curious about what state ours will be in behind the outer sills

I would like to think that some of these project photos will be of some help, although the earlier photos of the sill repairs could have been a bit more explanatory. I think Gary's hiding his trade secrets
But overall it proves that even though at first glance this Pi appeared to be a write-off, it wasn't that bad, with about 80% of the car still solid. If you cut out the horrors you find most of what's left is very good. I was suprised just how good this Pi is.
I will look forward to showing the 'before and after' photos at shows

Gary has been busy on the left side of Pi this week.
Here he has fitted the new left wing lower section to the valance:
And the new front arch section to wing:
And fitted the lower rear of front wing:
Once again i'm very pleased with how well the front end repairs are going.
The next and probably last (for now) welding job will be the rear inner and outer arch:
Just remembered a Triumph Pi that a friend (well, more of an aquaintence really) of mine had about 15 years or so ago! He stuck a 400ci Chevy V8 under the bonnet! I remember how he'd cut holes in the inner guards for the extractors to go through! Apparently, he went through a lot of diffs! I never went for a ride in it though... The last time I saw that car was at the dump, after having been rather seriously crashed!
Was that the car in the High Wycombe area? I seem to remember that he had a wheel come off and crush the rear wing a bit when he had the Rover V8 in it prior to fitting the Chevvy! He use to 'scare' Porsches on the M40!

Good idea about the V8, but i'm in the luxurious position of having a V8 in another car, a Rover 3500 EFi . And I admit that i'm also a big fan of the strait six Pi, a very impressive motor, a great torque curve I think
