Hello to all,
After a busy monday working on my Pi the exhaust system is now fitted and it looks very neat with a period look to the tailpipe. After changing the ignition Coil back to the old original unit (new one faulty) and Gary clearing the blocked Tank-to-Filter fuel line the Pi engine fired up, I had almost forgot how refined the 2.5 litre six is. I'm sure after adjusting the tappets and some minor tuning work, it will be almost silent in operation. I didn't get round to taking any photos (a very busy day), but I will during the next two to three weeks as Pi is now on all four wheels and nearing the end of welding work, and due a respray soon.
The next job for Gary is to repair the nearside outer arch and the nearside inner and outer rear arch, plus a few localized repairs before painting

Hello to all.
A bit more of the front end showing a bit of corrosion that needs to be cut away before the fitting of front valance. Once the valance is in position Gary can weld new front wing lower pieces.


A few shots of the underside of Pi having applied a few coats of white paint. Most of the floor sections are almost there now with quite a smooth finish:







And here the rear brake pipes fitted, but needing final positioning:

The left hand rear new shocker fitted and a bit of protective red oxide sprayed on to a couple of repairs:

The nearside rear inner arch before repair and fitting of inner and outer pieces:


The section of boot space for the fuel injection equipment will need a good make over I think, as this picture shows:

Gary also finished of the sill ends:



I fitted the throttle shaft bushes but the linkage will still need some fettling to reduce the sticky throttle problem:

As for bill, including purchase cost, probably around £4K
Worth every penny I think for a special car that would surely have been doomed.

I cleaned the fuel pump and filter compartment today and it cleaned-up quite well:

But I found some more horrors, well filler, and removed it:



Gary has finished fitting the valance and lower wing, and also the arch has been prepared for painting:



The next job is to join the new nearside lower wing to the valance and repair the left side inner and outer arches:

No the exhaust system is from Rimmer Bros and i'm very pleased with it as it has the right size tailpipe (period look), instead of the bigger size that continues from before the rear silencer:

I think this is to save money on the extra pipe that is smaller.
The Witor exhaust system is more for the performance and noise fancier, as this picture of my 2000 shows:
