Mk 1 Auto

#1 Post by Roscoe »

I am on the verge of purchasing a mk 1 2000 auto 1966 is the auto the same or similar that was in the 2500 PI.
The reason I ask is that I once had a 2.5 PI auto which I had no problems with as regards the transmission.

Ideally I would have liked a Manuel with overdrive but am struggling to find one that wants little or no work to it so would be happy with a auto.

They will be similar. Your 1966 will be a BW35, but could be PRNDL selector pattern, I would expect the PI to be a BW35 as well, but probably PRND21 selector pattern.
Currently over 35 years worth of fixing 35 boxes.
Hoping to reach 65 years worth of fixing 65 boxes.
