Wanted Mk1 bits that are done with headlining
As the post says, I'm after all the bits necessary when doing a headlining including
Headlining
Windscreen seal front and rear
Rear quarter seals
Also if anyone has the door seal bits like the quarter Windows front seals
And whatever else you think I might need
I'm in the states and I'm paying dearly to post bits
I know Witor has most stuff. Headlining via Canley
Cheers

Hi Lee
Oddly enough I have spoken with him about the windscreen and dash but not the seals. I assumed the seals are destroyed when removing the glass which is necessary when doing a headliner. I was gonna trade him a cactus interior for his bits because I cannot imagine shipping glass across the pond. That's if they'll even do it
That glass windscreen in the Goodyear car is cracked and the glass in my 68 is delaminating
Regards

Todd when I had the batch of windscreens made, our supplier shipped a couple of screens to Australia so should do USA provided product liability does not rear its ugly head. It is not cheap partly because of the special packaging but not too excessive.
Incidentally after requests from some Register and CT members I am looking into getting another batch made - heated and non heated, tinted, clear and banded. It all depends upon price and interest but 'bulk buying' saves something like 25% on single unit prices from Pilkington, plus we can organise free or reduced delivery cost in the UK which are normally £50 plus ........ not that it helps you!

Hello Todd,
the screen seals are re-usable and should not be damaged when removing the screen. The big if is if they are in good condition and not cracked and hard?

Hi Todd,
To remove the screen, ease the seal inside the car by prizing it away from the body with something suitable (wooden/plastic spatula). Do this around the sides and the top and then gently push the windscreen out - with something soft on the bonnet (hood) and a helper to catch it! This is also true for the rear screen. Remove the screen trims first!
Not sure about the rear quarter windows. i think they just sit in the window 'hole'. I've got an OEM seal for one of those somewhere.
Cheers,
Mike.

Mike,
Do I have to remove the stainless trim prior to removing? If so, what's the best way? And just to clarify, I'm doing this from inside the car pushing outward correct?
And installation...do the rope/cord trick?
Regards

Hi Todd,
Yes, remove the SS trim. Push the outer edge of the seal out the windscreen hole from the inside. Gently of course, (you don't want to break the glass!) until the glass can be moved. Then push the whole lot out. It's possibly easier to do than describe.
Cheers,
Mike.

Hello Todd,
be very careful with the screen rubber trim pull it out gently and aim to keep any bending to a minimum, if it loses it's original shape it will be almost impossible to refit, it's a bad job at the best of times.
