Just remembered.
I have got an Aldon distributor on the Team Thailand Landcrab. The engine did the 1993 London to Sydney and finished, and since being fitted in the Team Thailand car I must have covered something like 15,000 miles - all trouble free and with spirited driving.
If I were to fit another electronic ignition system to a car I would definitely go down this route.
