Front nose cone panel

#1 Post by James »

Hi all,

Annoyingly I hit a dog yesterday — luckily for them it was an instant death — but it's left a big dent to the left of the right hand side light unit.

Also bent the grille and smashed the inner light.

(I won't post the photo as the only one I have is a bit grizzly)

Does anyone have a Mk1 nose panel?

So mine needs same but a mate as bought the car and is repairing.

Witor as noscones and believe Fitchetts had some.

I have a pretty take-no-prisoners attitude when it comes to animals — I'm not harming myself, pedestrians or my car (in to a ditch etc) for the sake of one.

Does anyone know what the new front wings are like?

Could be something to do all at the same time.

CW has the complete one with the structure behind (so check yours) but is £350, but none of the nose cone skin.

Fitchets have rusty, I presume just the skin, for £75.

I did much the same many years ago in my Mk1. I hit a pigeon at some speed (me, not the pigeon  ). It made a big dent in the nose cone and left marks on the top windscreen trim. It made an even bigger dent in the pigeon.

Luckily, new nose cones were available then, (it was a long time ago).

I hope you get it sorted OK.

Cheers,
Mike.

The nose cone skin are a complete pain to fit, Done 3 now and not something i would again do in a hurry, Would think the complete nose cone at £350 might not work out that much more expensive if you are paying someone to fit it for you.

Is that just the skin or the whole panel?
