I bought my MK2 over the phone, sight unseen bar a few piccies, and despite a few issues that weren't mentioned it has been a good buy, had some issues getting it down from oop North, but we got there eventually, and we've been reasonably happy ever since. I think if you get a decent vibe off the seller it's not too bad, a few times I've rung about a car and didn't like what I was hearing on the phone so made the usual excuses rather than even go and look.

Middlewich, Cheshire. I leave for Sweden on Friday and won't be back for a few weeks, would love to collect before I go but doubt if I will get time.

Sooo... I collected the Triumph on Sunday. Not quite as described! The phrase he used was "un-marked"! To be honest I didn't expect a show car and I've seen worse.
I need to have a climb around but on first impressions it looks to be solid other then the usual wheel arch rust. The interior is from a later car I think as its cloth but in any case it's a bit on the manky side. If it is reasonably solid then i think i'll do the basics to get it through an MOT and use it as a rolling project.
There's no history with the car really so it's never going to end up in a museum which is kind of making me lean towards either a historic rally car or a light custom classic maybe.
I will get some pictures tomorrow and then you guys can let loose with the pool of knowledge and comments :)
