#1 Post by mauvstag38 »

Hi all,
71 2000 PAS I have a lot of play in the track rod and inner ball joint nobody seems to have any recon parts at all, they only sell complete racks. How do I get around this problem,? any ideas Most welcome.
Thanks George.

I'm about to adjust mine, same problem, vehicle inspector commented on it. Have pulled the end off a spare rack. There are shims under the large nut. It's a matter of adding shims to take up the slack between the arm and the cap.
Cheers Tony

Outer ball joint is (should be?) still available. The inner one uses a plastic cup and shims to adjust the play. CW used to sell a poly cup and new shims but doesn't seem to list them any more. He still has the tab washer in his lists though!

Just looked again. He's got the cups in the superflex bushes section! You'll need to check the part numbers to make sure they're for PAS.

Cheers,
Mike.
