Strut insert removal

#1 Post by simon.williams »

Hello,

Can somebody please advise on how to unscrew the flange holding the strut insert in place. Looks like it needs a special tool with two prongs? Thank you

Answered my own question, it came out with a punch and a hammer. Stiff all the way though.

Changed inserts - difference in resistance is enormous.

Had to re-use (better quality) retaining flange, as couldn’t get thread started on the one that came with new strut.
