Mk1 2000 wanted

Hi everyone new to the forum, but not new to Triumphs as I have owned numerous over the last 23 years, including one of the very last 2500TC's (VLN 639S) in Russet Brown and more recently a Mk2 2.5PI which I completed the 2011 Club Triumphs 10 Countries Run. I currently own a Mk3 Spitfire and looking for a Mk1 as a daily driver (I recently sold my modern MG ZT so have an empty Triumph sized space waiting on my drive!). I recently completed the 2012 RBRR in a friends Mk1 2500 which I was really impressed with and I love the styling.
What I am really after is a solid body (doesn't everyone!) I don't have the skills for a full-on weldathon, a small amount of would be fine. I am not really bothered about the rest of the car as long as it is all there (quite happy to sort out the oily bits). Automatics are just fine and not bothered about the colour.
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated.
Cheers
Charlie

They are available, just take your time and the right one will come along. Prices do seem to be rising quite a bit now.
Here are a couple that have sold recently.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIUMPH-2000- ... true&rt=nc
I can vouch for the solidity of the first one, (because I bought it) which is very solid indeed with very little rust, didn't pay as much as the ebay price as that deal fell through. You should be able to get something for £2500 or less maybe as little as £1500.
I am sure Lee Godfrey will be along to comment, he does seem to know of most of the cars available and is very knowledgeable on the Marque, I sure he will be able to point you in the right direction.
Here's one, requiring a bit of work.
