New Project just arrived!

#1 Post by Alan Chatterton »

Hi All,

Just got back from a 4 day trip to Switzerland with a trailer to collect the new project.

Yes, I did say Switzerland, and yes the last 4 days when it has been snowing, hailing, temperatures of minus 14.5degC and I was towing through all that! Oh yes, lets not forget Dover/Calais being in utter chaos due to the channel tunnel shutting!

So, it must be something interesting then?

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes. (well, it is to me!)

For those of you who know your 2000's, it will probably come as now surprise to hear that I have bought a Lines Stag Estate. More over, I have bought "DEL33", the very first one which was in Motor Magazine in November 1973.

Full rebuild needed, but its actually very good, needing minimal work to the body.

So, full updates on my blog..............when I do it...... slightly tired having done Switzerland to home in one shot..............!!

BMC Tartan Red II to be correct!

Being as the original brand new build Lines cars were built from new factory shells, they could be painted any colour.

Janey (Andy's yellow saloon) is Mimosa Yellow (Stag colour) but TNH10 (now JJH and black) was Jaguar Squadron Blue and mine is BMC Tartan Red II............ same as Mini Coopers I think

Anyway, it looks like a nice colour, should polish up lovely when its done, and it will stay the original colour!
