Hi Nick,
Thank you for that very useful info. After reading your post and
then having a look around on the net, it would appear the inner
seal could be at odds with the block due to variance with production tolerances.
I'll have a look today :wink:

Hi,
I had a look at the spin-on filter assembly today on my Pi and found I had one of the self adjusting types, with the spring loaded plate. So no easy fix there for bottom end rumble on start-up.

When I fitted a spin-on conversion years ago it came with two O-rings and a bit of plasticene. The instructions were to bolt it up initially with plasticene in the inner position, then inspect and see how compressed it was, and select the appropriate O-ring.
