Which car lives nearest to to the Canley plant?

#1 Post by Heather »

I used to live across the road from the Canley plant, and at that time my old 2000 was the Triumph that lived nearest to where it was born, now I'm still in Coventry, but not as close to the old plant, I was wondering which Triumph now has the title of being closest to it's birthplace.

And just out of interest, how many people take the opportunity to fill up at the Sainsbury's petrol station that is on the old site?

As an estate, it could be argued that your car was borne in Swindon!

My Triumph must've been genetically made by some mad scientist or something, it's got a few genes from other species in it! Though I do know it was originally made in Stoke, New Zealand. I wonder if it has the title of being made furtherest away from the Canley plant? And it was made towards the end of 1978, so I wonder if it's getting pretty close to being one of the last made? Though they were made into early 1979...
