Hello to all,
Thank you for the encouragement with my Pi re-build.
After another busy saturday with my friends working all day on my Pi it seems to be looking quite good now. I have had the right hand side welded-up this week, and apart from a few modifications to the front and rear of the sills the main repairs are nearly done. Here are a few more shots of the underside.
The offside sill cover fitted:

To say i'm delighted is a bit of an understatement :D :D
The next job is to clean and tidy-up the suspension and drive-line and replace brake pipes and fuel lines.

Once again i'm very impressed with his work. All we're waiting for now is the front wing repair sections and the valance to tidy up the front end, and also fit the rear arches of course :D

Gary has been cracking on with my Pi resto, and is now on sorting a few bodywork corrosion problems. Here we have a few shots of the offside rear arch repairs.

We have done a few more things on my Pi today. Cleaned up some of the suspension and detailed some of the engine and transmission components, with a few repairs to the fuel lines.

I found this production date mark on the trailing arms, I think it says:20/11/70

We're trying out gloss paint on the underneath and Leyland white seems to be a good likeness to the body colour, as the Triumph white appears to have discoloured over the years.

Hello to all,
Gary has been fitting the bottom of the wings in place this week. I'm very pleased with this as it puts the icing on the cake with all the sill work done now.

Lee,

Looking at that last photo, of the bottom of the wing/sill.......... I am worried about the construction of this.

Not wanting to tell you man what to do.......... but,

That closing panel at the bottom of the wing is not right. There needs to be an opening to allow water to drain out, otherwise it will fill up and rot out again.

Makes sure you drill some large drain holes in that patch at the bottom of the wing, and then in the sills, front and rear, otherwise you'll be doing this all again in a couple of years!!

Hello Alan,
Sorry i've been away for a few days.
Yep, i'm sure Gary will be installing a few drain holes here and there. I think there will be a lot of little bits to sort to get it looking tidy.
I'm off to Garys tomorrow to have a good look. It should be nearly ready for bringing back now :D

Hello to all,
I have checked the wing to sill repair today and found that Gary has made a drain for the wing bottom:

I have fitted new brake pipes at the rear axle and freed off the handbrake levers and replaced the wheel cylinders and shoes. Also I have secured the fuel lines with new clips.
The front brakes will be replaced when the car is back home.
A seized exhaust manifold stud is the next niggle to sort :lol:

Hello to all,
We're now having a look at the front end of my Pi. Gary has removed the front valance and front lower wings:

Gary will have to do a bit of prep work before fitting the replacement panels.
While he is doing this i'll be fitting the new exhaust system and having a look under the bonnet and changing over the coil and ballast unit. Also fitting new throttle shaft bushes.

This is SO frustrating! I cannot see any of the pictures from work. I suspect the IT police have been busy again! I'll have to wait until I get home before drooling over the photos.
