Inner tie rod ball joints

#1 Post by Binny »

I’m just about to reassemble the inner ball joints on my PI after cleaning and checking the shimming.

Should the ball joints be packed with grease or just lightly greased? If mine were greased previously then it was all washed away by leaking PAS fluid over several years 😬

Thanks.

Which ones exactly? Are they on the track rods under the rubber gaiters? I’ve only ever replaced the outers. But I would suggest more grease better than less.

Hi Simon,

The inner ball joints where they bolt to the end of the steering rack. As it happens I’ve fitted them now and packed them with grease👍🏻
