Not much to report yet. Life and other everyday vehicles seem to be getting in the way (should I really need to weld up the spring seat area and boot floor on a 2000 Corsa?! ).

I have had a better look around the TC though at the areas for repair.

Floors look better than I remembered (believe it or not!) from my first look. Though quite where I'll need to cut back to remains to be seen.



I'm sure there should be an outrigger here somewhere A previous chassis leg repair seems to have rotted out too

Not only surface rust but also a time consumer. I might invest in a sandbag and mallet kit and see what I can make


I've now sent off the ownership docs, just waiting for the new V5 to return. I've also been handed these, the original service book and handbook. I think the original sale doc might be somewhere too.

I think you can still get the lower front wing front repair. I got one not too long ago from Earlparts. The bit at the end of the valance is not too difficult to make as it's more or less a 2D shape. However, original front valances might still be around. Then you have the interesting job of drilling out loads of spot welds and trying to get inside the front to plug weld the valance to the wing! (I have done it!)

That rot under the driver's right foot is fairly typical and is where the front outrigger is (or should be!). Again, they are available but not difficult to make if it's just the end bit to do.

Raider, I'm not sure without looking again ( I will next time) but I think it's a 'come on and join our club' type flyer. Quite how old it is I don't know but I guess fairly

Mike, I have looked for body repair parts and while perhaps easier it would soon rocket the cost of getting it going again. I'll play it by ear but having seen Tinsmith_Skippys thread and his fab fabrication work I feel somewhat inspired to give it a bash

Yup, can understand that. I try to make my own repair panels, but the 3D curve of the lower repair is well beyond my capabilities!

I think the Club Triumph flyer was supplied with the car when it was new! The first RBRR was in 1966!

Have you had any luck freeing the stuck clutch, I had one stuck good and fast on a MK1, I tried everything I could think of to free it without pulling the box, in the end the gearbox came out and the pressure plate removed, I got the clutch off the flywheel with the aid of a bolster chisel and 4 pound hammer, I couldn't believe it could be stuck that much to warrant this brutal force, but it was. I also had to use another clutch plate as the linings broke up upon separation

Finally got some time today to try and free the clutch. I used the method Alan described above with the back end in the air, 4th gear, clutch in and some heel/toe action. Tried it for a while with no success. Had a cuppa to contemplate the next move and decided to give it one more go. That one more go did it! I was quite a happy camper that's for sure. Not sure my nans neighbours appreciated the noise of limited exhaust and car effectively doing 70mph plus though Now its moveable I'll be able to get the garage cleared properly assess the underneath more.
