Windscreen fitting

#1 Post by Bill Reed »

I now have a laminated windscreen to replace the toughened one. Seal also. Both sourced from Chris Witor. I'm not going to do this myself but would welcome advice that the fitter should take into account.

fit the stainless trim to the seal (after fitting it to the screen) before putting the screen into the aperture.

While the method Colin described is not as shown in the manual, it does seem to work and is much easier to fit the stainless steel trim back on rather than when the screen/seal is back on the car. I just have a little concern about getting enough sealant into the right place afterwards. However, a lot of the specialists do it successfully this way.

Cheers,
Mike.
