There's currently a UK Mk2 on German ebay, have you seen it? It looks like a spare parts car to me and the seller wants silly money for it and has put it down twice since I've been watching. I suspected there must also be some RHD Mk2's in Germany, as there are also plenty of other British RHD's that have found there way to here (Spitfires, TR's, Rolls Royces, Jags etc).

Oh yes re paperwork, in fact my car still has a French MOT till Jun this year. I have the French registration document. The TUEV man is coming to have a look tomorrow, in case it's a problem I'll let you know. He may have a problem with the orange reverse lights, but the lenses are easily swapped for UK ones. Shouldn't take much to get a TUEV and some of those special 'H' numberplates.

Hello

I'm new here and very interested in the question, whow many 2000MK1, LHD had been produced and are still existing. I own a 1963, 2000MK1, origin Germany (HH), now in Austria, but still with german permission. This car is familiar to me since 1969, as the owner was good known to me.

LHD Mk1s are rare, but seem slightly more common than Mk2s in LHD (especially in German spec) - that's what I've learnt so far, which is probably about as much good as a chocolate bed spread.

I don't think we'll ever know the exact figures! The data has been lost. We can only guess based on how many are known to the club and forum members.

I've got a small collection of period advertisements, road tests and photographs etc and have a few bits relating to LHD cars mostly for the French market but also a couple of American and Swiss things. We're packing up to move at the moment but will have a dig through once we're settled.

My parents were living in France until recently and my dad gave me a picture he'd taken of a white LHD Mk2 PI for sale near Bordeaux.

If you have anything spare or for sale in French or German relating to the Mk2, I could be interested. In your own time.

I wouldn't have anything spare or for sale but I could probably scan something for you. If I ever see my scanner again...

Dave Davis, a member in Kent is restoring a Mk2 LHD PI originally sold in Paris. It is a Belgium built car with the leather seats, (needs new front ones!). It is Valencia Blue and won heap of the week at three consecutive Nationals in the early 2000's.
If anyone has the LHD Mk2 nacelle (cover around the steering column the stalks and lock come through and the light switch is on) please let me know. The original was held together with tape!

I bet it must be very hard to get specific LHD parts for them (e.g. certain dashboard/trim bits and steering rack)! My steering column trim looks ok, but I note the ignition barrel is inop and another has been wired up next to the gearbox tunnel, so I wonder if the barrel is also specifically LHD (likely) and in the past the owner couldn't source one.

Dave's car sounds similar to mine - Belgian built, registered in France and with knackered leather seats! What part of Kent is he in? I'm from the London/Kent border originally.

He is Folkestone based, just round the corner from me! I think the barrel is the same, just mounted the other side! LHD specific parts are awkward to find!
