Offset wise the Scimitar alloys are just about right, doubt you'll get anymore offset under a lowered arch.

According to our website the offset on standard S alloys is 19mm (et19)on a 5.5" inch rim width and 14" diameter.
The MOMOs we have on the estate are 6" width with the same backspace of 4". According to a table on the internet this will give an offset on this wheel of 12mm (et12). The MOMOs with 195/70/14 are pretty close to the rear arches (forget the fronts, loads of room), certainly less than 5mm, but they have never touched.
I know someone else with 7" rims and 205/50/16 on a mk2, these are less than 5mm from the arch but never touch. The offset on these is 25mm (et25).
How do the Dunlop rims look on the 2000 and are they the steel rim, alloy centre composite ones?

Hello Iggy,

did you sleeve the stud holes in the Scimitar wheels as they are designed to fit on 1/2" studs? (Triumph 7/16")

That could make for some interesting searches for cause of vibration Alec, as if there wasn't enough potential sources on our cars already.

Hello Colin,

exactly what I thought, especially as the Scimitar nuts for those wheels are flange faced not conical.

hi craj the dunlop alloys are the composite type with the outer rim riveted to the alloy centre flange they look good on the front but with 185 65 14 tyres only 10mm clearance on the rear outer wheel arch with no rubbing, if i could alter the off set i would keep them which may be possible by removing the rivets and reriveting back with rim nearer to the inner wheel arch, or i could fit mk1 trailing arms and shafts, but at this time ive got more important jobs to do ie buying fitting a recon 3.45 diff getting the engine running properly, id swap the scimitar alloys for a set of 15" minilite reps but i dont think that any one on the forum would do that, alec as im only taking the car for short test runs it has the triumph wheel nuts it came with but no vibrations

Hello Iggy,

I suspect that you could not run the car for long with that set up without the wheels coming loose? Keep a close eye on them.
