Wanted: 2500 exhaust system

Hi all,

I need a complete 2500 exhaust (except manifold) - anyone have one for sale before I shell out for a new shiny one ?

(South east / Surrey area )

Or can anyone recommend a supplier ? I've already found Chris Witor and Rimmerbros.

Hi

It's actually for a Stag, in which I'm installing the triumph 2500 engine.

I think I'll need a 2000/2500 exhaust, and I'll need to shorten it by about 4-6".

I suspect that it won't matter too much if it's an auto/manual exhaust as I'll have to mangle it about anyway.

the alternative is to try to connect the engine to the standard Stag exhaust but there are many issues with that.

My PI Stag has the 2000 down pipe, a Y piece and then the standard Stag system. It is buggered though! If you do decide to go down the single pipe route and have the standard system 'spare', please PM me! If you would like to come and look at it, I am only just down the road near Folkestone.

Yeah I looked into that. Sounds like a great plan, but Rimmer says the TR6 manifold alone is nearly £300 ! ouch .. I can't really stretch to that, but then a 2500 exhaust is about £250 anyway. Zoiks ..

I quite like the idea of a 2500 downpipe then Y piece to stag exhaust. How does it sound ? My stag used to be really quiet with the standard v8/exhaust so I'd hope if I connext the 2500 to the same system it'll be just as quiet.

did you make the Y piece yourself ? I don't know anywhere were I can buy bits like that.

Thanks !! I'll see how things pan out but it's likely at the end of it I'll have a very good stainless Stag system for sale. I'll let you know if it goes that way.

Did you make the Y piece (and presumably some extension pipe) yourself, or is there a place I can buy such thingies ?

Hi doug im doing a stag at the moment with a straigt six in used original downpipe secondhand ss center section onto stag rear end double exhaust bit of fiddling between the 2 with odd bits of pipe made a 2 into 1 joiner so smoke comes out of both exhausts sounds ok not as nice as a v8 but i want a reliable rounaround, my mates also got a stag with a straight 6 in using 6 downpipe onto y piece and the rest stag he was at the national, that sounds nice,all depends on your budget really,

TR6 Manifolds can often be picked up very cheaply - worth asking on TR Forum - I got two for 100 quid. Many have been replaced with expensive shiney bunches of bananas
