I hate most Americanisms but you probably need (in the nicest possible way

) a 'reality check'!
Streamlining your projects and spares (Rover and Chevy V8s etc) would give you more time and more money to concentrate on a couple of projects. I can see this is what you are talking about above and although not what you ideally want, it maybe a solution that you know exists but have been trying to avoid.
Colin.
Um .... Colin, I think you have the wrong end of the stick here. Only one car needs 'major works', it is largely that I don't get sidetracked onto other (Triumph) things which do not involve getting my cars sorted/finish the workshop.
I have no intention of building a Rover/Chevvy V8 powered estate, it is just that I have had these engines for years and for some time have wanted to shift them on especially the small block Chevvy engine - at a price that reflects its value (a grand or more). My intention is to sort out the estate (sills, front wings, interior) and PI it (I have the stuff) to give me a daily driver estate to cart dogs etc. around and tow our caravan to Register activities. Not a quick job but not a major restoration project.
The reality check is that if I can get a decent useable PI estate for what the other estate and the engine(s) are worth I would save myself a project

and get on with the Mk1.
It has been pointed out a number of times on this Forum and elsewhere that next year is the anniversary of the launch of the MK1 and we should try to get them out to celebrate that fact. As I have an early one (registered 1st Sept 1964 MB.13261DLO) while not early in production terms must be early in survival terms ....... which needs sills and rear valence/wing replaced, this should take priority over the PI saloon (I loved driving my last one) which needs the same amount of work but at the front to get it back on the road.
One Landcrab is up and running and just needs an MOT which I will do when my Rangie is sorted - next week if weather holds.
Have to put a roof on the workshop as a restoration bay for NAM (my other Landcrab) which will be on a long term restoration and have space for another car without dodging the showers.
The SAAB as far as I am concerned is for sale once MOT'd (needs me to get the engine out to sort the low oil pressure). While it is sort of collectable in its own right I am now only interested in taking the registration number (which is not original) off it for the Rangie or whatever.
Now I am into retirement these projects keep me off the streets. Besides with having the space what is wrong with collecting some cars.
Ted
