To get back to the original question ( ), all the cars I've had always had a (set)screw in those positions. And, I've had these cars long enough that they were using the original fixings.

Cheers,
Mike.

I weld the two bolt heads to a strip of steel. Same with the front Xmember bolts (4 sets). That way they are captive for one man operation.

Hi all
completed replacement of mounting last week, everything went well.very pleased with cecil!,seems there are no major problems at the moment, colin and amanda came down for the weekend, and on sunday we allwent down to tankerton, and had a pub meal, very nice  our daughter and son in law joined us,and after a jerky but trouble free run, when we got back at colins instigation it was decided to change a grotty old in line filter before they went off home at 5 o clock,i let him do all the work(it would be churlish to refuse) and thanks.
this was the last job at present which was on my list.crossing everything,i am really pleased with this car, which is really a credit to its first ,deceased 43 year long owner. so cheers to MR CECIL COTTAGE. :D :D

Hi Bill,

We're both well, and as busy as ever. I need to give up the day job!

Yes, we have it in the diary. I wonder what delights C&A have arranged for us this year? Looking forward to it.

Cheers,
Mike.
