The stag has lap belts in order to carry the children since it is better to have some belts to stop them jumping out and three pointers are not easy/impossible to fit and still use the soft top. Only problem with this set up is the law! Children under 12 or under a certain weight must use a booster seat. The Stag has little persons seats in the rear that fit the children perfectly but as far as I can ascertain should not be used without the booster because they do not carry an e mark. Of course if I remove the belts again, they can legally travel in the back without. At present I am using the boosters to comply as far as I am aware, but this in my opinion is not as safe since they are higher up and have a degree of wobble as opposed to them sitting on the curved seat base securely strapped in. What do others think?
Absolutely, I think that certainly Fergus, who is 10 and weighs about 4.5/5 stone, is far safer not on a booster seat in the back of the car, the booster puts him too high and wobbly. If an officer of the law were to stop and question me about it I would argue the point most strongly.
