Thanks Mike,

the work will be carried out at my local garage, who are well versed in older cars and whom I've a good working relationship with - The triumph has been going here for 7 years. On confirming this last week the garage asked for 'expert' (ie you guys) advice on the best way to do this ...

Replacing Front Pinion Seal / Rear differntial

Hi,

my 1971 Triumph 2000 rather sadly dumped a load of oil on my drive a couple of nights ago. On close inspection the oil was coming from the rear and was sourced to the Front Pinion Seal, just ahead of the diff.

Can anyone advise what needs to be removed to replace this, how long it should take ...

Fuel and Temp gauge over reading

Hi all,

I recently changed the bulbs in the 'all systems go' gauge on my '71 200 mk2 as only the indicators were left working. - Removing the front of the dashboard to do so. These now all work fine but the fuel gauge and temp gauge read out in the next dial along have started reading much higher ...

Thanks for all the responses and thoughts to date. I've tried in vain this week to get the valance from a number of additional sources, mainly from cars currently being broken up, so am going to have the conversation with the garage around repairing the damaged panel. Thats what I'm wondering, could be the best option. It was a near perfect part before.

sorry to hear about your woes and glad it was nothing more serious as your daughter was in the car !!

i am looking into getting these panels done, as i do intend to be able to supply all panels that us t2000 owners need, and as they are rear sections that do take a bang now and again ...
