as far as I know, the Stag , 14" wheel trims are different from the PI ones ... one of the differences being round or oval hole for the valve .. can't remember which is which, but they both fit flush, if you have the right 1 for the right application, if you don't have the right 1, it will appear ...

they fit like a glove !! either way ...only difference with the later MK 2 is with the seat runners .. but, again, either will bolt straight into the other .... and you could argue the toss either way, in terms of which type of runner is the better design. Hope that helps, Andy

Bill, most if not all those I've worked on / repaired / broken have been fully threaded, if my memory serves me correctly.....however I .have seen several "bodges" in that area, one in particular started with an odd vibration and difficulty selecting reverse ... turned out to be the bit Alan ...

What was the catch phrase of the REAL HUSTLE ?? If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is .... TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE !! Can't say I would let a car go who knows where, for a month, before I could raise the alarm !! ...especially if THEY contacted YOU !! Andy

thankyou all for the help .... we now think it is a poorly stamped CF, which would also explain the long - since parting of the car with its injection gear. Still interested to know if there is anything to link the car to official rallying or maybe a previous owner who rallied because they wanted to ...
