Hi all I have a Triumph 2000 Mk1 engine and auto box in my 1948 Triumph Roadster. The rear seal is leaking and I want to know that if i can't pop the seal out as per suggestions below can I separate the extension housing in situ to gain access to the back of the seal . Is it possible to change the out put seal to the prop shaft without taking the automatic gearbox out . If yes are there any special tools required

Hi thanks for the reply . The engine has been modified to enable a spin on filter to be used . Its fitted to a Triumph Roadster 1948 !!. The invoice says GFE23 but the info on the filter can says GFE166. It fits ok , don't know about check valve the can height is about 95 mm . The one I took of is ...

Oil Filter for Triumph 2000 Mk1
Just been given a GFE 166 oil filter to fit to the engine Box says its for a 1275 Midget ?. I asked for GFE23. The one I took off is a Mann Filter W712/80 1506
The GFE 166 fits ok and has 6 holes at 0.256" diam giving total area of 1.235sq" for the 6 holes .
The W712/80 1506 has only 4 holes ...

In my fairly limited experience with cracked flexplates (2 on Triumph 2000s, 1 on a Morris Oxford) the noise produced was surprisingly deep, more a rumble than a high pitched noise, and it was more prominent under the no-load condition if I recall correctly from several decades ago. The gearbox ...

Ok need help again . Just replaced the auto box on the engine. When engine revved up there is metallic high pitch noise , maybe the flexiplate is cracked ? . When the new box was fitted we heard the bush at the end of the crankshaft was missing and also the dowels. Box to be removed again :( , where ...
