It´s car of the month time again folks and this month we have a rather nice injection model.
Colin Radford´s 1970 2.5Pi Mk2 – or Frank to give him his proper name !
Colin takes up Frank´s story :
FRanK was originally bought to allow the work on our 2500S estate’s sills to happen, a courtesy car if you like. I just managed to convince Amanda that having two big saloons at the same time was a good idea.
Purchased unseen off Ebay from Devon in 09, my first drive in a pi was nearly 300 miles driving him home.
Built in the late December 1970, he was registered in Feb ’71. Originally a company car for a banker at Lloyds of London, FRanK is a manual overdrive pi saloon with weathershield sunroof and PAS, ‘what’s not to like’ is probably the best term for him.
In our ownership he has been to Scotland on a National, spent an Easter in France and towed our trailer full of show equipment and camping clobber all over the place,
Later this year he will be doing the RBRR and his current tally of track days is two. He has even been a centrefold in Triumph World.
Not a show car by any means he has graced the halls at Stoneleigh and the stand at WCR40, but he is a driver’s car rather than show and shine.
Many thanks to Colin for sending his car in – please keep them coming and your car could be the star of the next COTM !
